Artist Statement: Hello, I'm Orquidia Torres the artist of this artwork and the reason why I decided to do this artwork is that these two characters I drew their names are Hu Tao and Zhongli from a game called "Genshin Impact", they hold a special bond that reminds me a lot about my relationship with my best friend, including that the fact their personality is exactly like us. The funny thing is that both of the characters are one of our favorites in the game without knowing their relationship and personality until I point it out to him. Speaking of which these two will be forever remembered in our heart :3.

Artist Statement: Hello, My name is Mya Sandoval, I've been a artist for nearly all my life. Ever since I was little, When I had been attending a different school district, I was neglected by my 1st grade teacher due to my ADHD. Due to this everyday I was placed away from all the other students, and wasn't allowed to try any assignments or learn even when I had wanted to. My teacher instead placed a stack of blank paper in front of me and told me just to draw everyday. I didn't know how to read or write or do basic math at the age 6, but I did have a extreme fascination with drawing. I was able to express myself without having to write anything or formulate any words, just draw it onto paper and it'd make sense or even transcended the ability of simply writing your feelings or thoughts. You could actually see them and feel them, Absorb the contents of the paper and understand a lot more then just cognitive things. I fell in love with drawing and this new way to express myself and I only began to do it more and more. Now here I am today, someone who doesn't consider my art as a hobby but a pure passion, I do have relatives who have art as a professional career, so I also dream to follow their foot steps and be able to use what I love to do, to express myself with my art, and bring it out to the world.

Artist Statement: This oil painting depicts a young woman living through the COVID-19 pandemic where everyone is required to wear a mask, social distance with one another, and only able to see a certain amount of family members & friends just to keep them safe from contracting this virus. While living through this pandemic for a year now, many people just want things to go back to normal such as being able to go out to places like amusement parks or going to concerts, etc. and they just want to be able to feel free again without having to worry about wearing a mask or getting the virus. As shown in the painting, the butterflies that are seen being this young woman with a mask on represents the meaning of "freedom" and "being free" , which this is the feeling that many since the start of the pandemic want to be able to feel like again

Artist Statement: This was taken in January 2021 on a random Sunday afternoon of my husband Jerry and youngest son, Jameson marveling at the kids skating at the park. In keeping with the theme A Captured Moment- this photo helps to remind me that precious moments like these are few and far between and to appreciate the wonder in our children’s eyes. And moments like these can be found throughout our beautiful city.
